Five arrested after man stabbed near Longbridge Island

FIVE people have been arrested after a man was stabbed near the Longbridge Island.

The man in his 40s was taken to hospital after the attack near the A429 on Thursday (August 1) at around 4.30pm. He has since been discharged.

A 31-year-old man from Warwick has been arrested on suspicion on attempted murder.

Four other people have been arrested on suspicion of affray, they are – a 18-year-old woman from Evesham; a 48-year-old man from Bourton-on-the-Water, a 30-year-old woman from Warwick and a 32-year-old man from Moreton-in-Marsh. Police believe they are all known to each other.




All five have been released on bail.

Officers are calling for anyone who saw a black Audi A1 pulling into a layby on the A429 near Wasperton at around 4pm on Thursday to get in touch, along with anyone with further information.


Det insp Tim Sharp said: “We are continuing with our enquiries and are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch with us. We’re especially keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage from the area around the time of the incident.”
