FIREFIGHTERS tackled a large blaze on Long Marston Airfield at the weekend.

Crews were called to Campden Road in Lower Quinton shortly after 10.15pm on Sunday (August 14) following reports of a fire at the back of the medical centre.

Two teams from Stratford and one from Bidford were joined by the fire service’s Leamington-based water bowser as they attempted to battle the fire, which involved a large pile of rubbish.

The blaze was under control by the early hours of Monday morning although its cause is not yet known.

Long Marston Airfield played host to the Bulldog Bash festival from Thursday (August 11) to Sunday.
