Donations needed to make Dogs Trust Christmas fund-raiser a success

DONATIONS are needed to help make Dogs Trust’s festive fund-raiser a success.

The Honiley-based rehoming centre is holding its annual Christmas fair on Saturday December 7 from midday to 4pm.

And to help raise as much money as possible for the charity, it is appealing for donations of gift sets, sweets, bottles of alcohol for its tombola and for bakers to create cakes for the refreshment stall. Voucher donations and larger prizes are also needed from local businesses for the raffle.

Entry to the event is free and will also include the chance for dogs to meet Santa Paws.

Donations can be sent or taken to Dogs Trust Kenilworth.

* WITH Christmas just around the corner, Dogs Trust is once again reminding potential pet owners a dog is for life.

Last January the charity received nearly 300 calls from people in the midlands wanting to give up a dog.

Online searches for puppies also rocketed by nearly 50 per cent in the countdown to Christmas. In the region pugs and cockapoos were the most sought-after breeds.
