Digital showcase aims to recognise those committed to keeping the community active

A CELEBRATION of sport in Stratford district aims to highlight the commitment of people helping others to stay active in 2020.

Stratford District Council is creating an online showcase to recognise local clubs, groups and individuals and their ability to adapt to the current circumstances.

The council is calling for people to let it know how their club or an individual has adapted to enable sport and physical activity to take place, or has been involved with helping the community to stay active during the difficulty of the past year.

District councillor Ian Shenton said: “This is an exciting online showcase, which highlights the very hard work of individuals and organisations around Stratford district who have encouraged and helped residents to keep healthy and active in what has proved to be a challenging year for all of us.

“I look forward to reading about the achievements of everyone involved and thank everyone for what they have done in their communities no matter how large or small.”

Applications will be accepted from individuals, sports clubs, physical activity groups and schools in Stratford district.

The deadline for applications is Friday January 15.
