Community cafe finds new home

Stratford Editorial 9th Jul, 2018   0

A COMMUNITY cafe in Stratford will have a new home during the summer holidays.

The Caterpillar Cafe, which runs every Friday at the Old Slaughterhouse off Sheep Street, will serve even more hungry youngsters over summer when it moves location thanks to support from Stratford Town Trust.

From July 20 to August 31 it will be operating for longer – every Friday between 10am to 2pm – at Tyler House Hub on Tyler Street.

Run by mums Emma Gurdag and Karen MacNamara, the family friendly cafe holds crafts and cooking activities as well as a monthly themed play zone.

Trust spokesperson Rachel Jones said: “”Not only does the cafe provide a safe and friendly place for young children to play and learn, it also helps parents and carers to feel part of a wider community and find out about local support services which can benefit young families.”
