Charity supports LGBT community

Stratford Editorial 7th Jan, 2017   0

THE YOUNG LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender) community in Stratford can now attend a weekly drop-in session.

Charity Push Projects are running the sessions known as Proud Youth for under 25s on Tuesday evenings at Tyler House Hub, in Tyler Street, between 4pm and 6pm.

The sessions will allow people to relax, be themselves, meet new people and receive support if they require it.

Push Projects’ chair of trustees Daniel Browne said: “Some of the young people we work are facing issues such as bullying, hate crimes, poor mental health and self-harm.

“Proud Youth exists to support those young people, while also providing a social outlet where LGBT+ young people can be themselves.
