SUPERMARKET staff are getting in the carnival spirit in the name of charity.
Those working at Morrisons in Stratford are hoping the start of the bank holiday weekend will see lots of money donated for their charity of the year, Clic Sargent – which supports young children suffering from cancer.
And to start their fund-raising drive, delicatessen worker Nicki Izod volunteered to have her head shaved, raising £186 for the charity – which has been match-funded by the shop.
Her colleagues are also making their own fund-raising efforts by dressing down for the day on Friday (August 25).
And on the day, customers can get get in the carnival spirit by enjoying a tombola, line-dancing, hook a duck, lucky dip and a visit from Peppa Pig and George.
