AN INNOVATIVE launch pad in Stratford for small businesses is celebrating its first birthday.
Venture House, Stratford District Council’s state-of-the-art business centre, is aimed at new and existing small and medium sized businesses, entrepreneurs and home based businesses looking to expand.
The centre, on Avenue Farm industrial estate on Birmingham Road, was funded by the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) through an award of £450,000 as part of the growth deal initiative to boost the local economy.
Since opening, the centre has been fully occupied with businesses taking advantage of the facilities including hot-desking, meeting rooms, serviced offices and free support and advice from the CWLEP Growth Hub.
The flexible terms and conditions offered by the centre mean businesses can develop and move on, freeing up space for other businesses requiring a boost.
Council spokesman Coun Dave Riches said: “We are very proud of our new business centre and are delighted that it is making such a positive impact on new and small businesses.
“Venture House is intended to be the blueprint for other similar projects in the district where there is a need and active steps are currently being pursued to look at similar types of facilities in other parts of the district to address this.
“We look forward to welcoming more businesses to the centre which we hope will provide a platform for inspiration. We would encourage them to take full advantage of the opportunity to work in a friendly business community environment aimed at helping them on their journey to productivity and growth.”
