British folklore celebrated at Charlecote Park exhibition

Stratford Editorial 21st Nov, 2019   0

BRITISH folklore is celebrated in a new exhibition at Charlecote Park.

Visitors can see pieces by local artists Ros Ingram, who specialises in ceramics and up-cycling, and Rachel Harwood who specialises in willow weaving.

Their artwork was on show in September and proved so popular the park re-installed it for a second run until Thursday November 28.

The pieces are inspired by the National Trust book ‘A Treasury of British Folklore’, which looks at how British culture has been shaped and where you can see folklore today, including at Charlecote.

A spokeswoman said: “After the exhibition’s success earlier this year, we’re reinstalling it to give visitors a chance to see these popular pieces again or incase they missed them the first time around.

“People can discover artistic creations from some of Charlecote’s local artists alongside the tales, traditions and superstitions which inspired them.”
