Artistic youngsters create Shakespeare busts to go on show around town

Stratford Editorial 10th Aug, 2017   0

ARTISTIC teenagers have been busting their guts for a new exhibition at Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall.

KES pupils – inspired by the ‘Gromit Unleashed’ in Bristol and ‘The Big Hoot’ in Birmingham – worked collaboratively to design and paint busts of Shakespeare which will be on display until September 3 after which they can be found around the town.

Reinterpretations of the famous old boy include SuperBard, Quilliam Shakespeare and Atmos-peare.

The designs did not have to be directly linked to the works of Shakespeare and some students drew on their own references from popular culture for their final designs.

Sarah Jervis Hill from the schoolroom said: “The designs show real distinction, great story-telling and a clear sense of fun, all of which makes them fabulous reflections of Shakespeare. We are delighted to be exhibiting them, before they go of on tour. They will definitely bring a smile to our visitors faces.”
