Appeal for information about stolen vintage scooter

Stratford Editorial 10th Mar, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

A VINTAGE scooter was stolen from the driveway of an Earlswood home in broad daylight.

The white Lambretta, which has a blue seat, was taken from Valley Road around 2.50pm on Saturday (March 5).

Two men with their faces covered put the scooter into the back of a white Ford Transit van which had its rear registration plate concealed.

They had reversed the van onto the drive and drove off in the direction of Wythall.

It also thought the van had pulled up on the driveway just a few minutes earlier before driving off and coming back again.

PC John Townsend said: “The scooter was only parked on the drive for about 15 minutes when this theft happened.

“At the time there would have been quite a bit of traffic passing by so someone could have seen something which could really help our investigation.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw a van matching that description in the area at the time of the offence.

“If you have been offered a scooter, or know of someone selling a similar one, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
