Alcester Male Voice Choir warms-up for long-awaited concert

Stratford Editorial 1st Mar, 2022   0

ALCESTER Male Voice Choir has returned on a high note as member prepare for their first annual concert in two years.

Under the guidance of their founder and director of music, Judith Land, the choir returned to full time rehearsals last September, following Covid safe guidelines.

The group is rehearsing for its annual concert which will be held at Pershore Abbey on April 2.

It is also looking for new members.

Judith said: “Our members returned to rehearsals with great enthusiasm and are once again enjoying the hobby they love.

“We already have concerts booked for the rest of this year. ]

“We are constantly looking for new members, four have joined since we returned but we are looking for more.

Choirs have experienced a surge in popularity and the benefits of singing are well documented. These include proven benefits to health and wellbeing, the opportunity to make new friends and to enjoy some unforgettable experiences.

“It can be daunting joining a well established group, but there are no embarrassing auditions, you don’t have to be able to read music and there is help and guidance every step of the way.

“New members are always made most welcome and there is no pressure to take part in concerts until they feel confident to do so.”

Members are asked to commit to weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings at the Eric Payne Centre in Alcester.
