A TSUNAMI wave hits the east coast of England in The Children at Leamington’s Loft Theatre from September 8 to 18.
Olivier award-winning playwright Lucy Kirkwood weaves global issues with everyday domestic squabbles in her play described as a fusion of wit and gripping drama.
The play opened at the Loft in March 2020 for one performance before being forced to close due to the first Covid lockdown.
Director William Wilkinson said: “Lucy Kirkwood`s play grips from the first moment to the last and will stay with you long after the lights have faded on its shocking ending.
“A tsunami wave has hit the east coast of England. A nuclear power station was in its path. In a nearby cottage live a man and his wife, retired nuclear scientists, who receive an unsettling visit from a colleague of long ago that has life changing consequences. “Told with the lightest of touches, romantic implications and sharp wit, this award-winning play confronts the legacy the older generation has bequeathed their children.”
