A BLOOMING lovely sight is set to greet visitors travelling to Stratford by train.
A project to enhance the station by decorating platforms with floral displays, has been officially launched by mayor Victoria Alcock.
And its volunteers were presented with a plaque in recognition of their dedication to the project.
The gardening work is being carried out by the newly-formed group, Friends of Stratford Station (FOSS) and supported by station staff.
The green-fingered group includes Coun Jenny Fradgely, canon David Capron, Charles Bates of Stratford in Bloom, a volunteer from Blenheim Nursery and local residents.
London Midland has also joined with Stratford in Bloom to install summer hanging baskets along the front of the station, a project which earned the station an award in 2016.
Project organisers have also donated plants and planters to the station to help with the gardening project.
