Stratford Editorial 6th Mar, 2017   0

ENSEMBLE 360 double up with a morning family concert and full scale afternoon chamber music concert at Leamington’s Spa Centre on Sunday March 19.

For the family concert, Ensemble 360 with Polly Ives as narrator will be repeating a past success with Paul Rissmann’s hit The Chimpanzees of Happytown. Based on the book by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees, it tells of the story of Chutney the Chimp and is set to brilliant and witty music.

The 11 musicians of Ensemble 360 will play the score and then stay on for a concert in the afternoon featuring the Flute Quartet K285 and the Quintet for piano and winds K452 by Mozart, with Beethoven’s Septet Opus 20 in the second half.

The Ensemble 360 line-up includes Juliette Bausor, who was brought up in Leamington, before going to the Purcell School. She has recently been appointed Principal Flute of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Richard Phillips,of promoters Leamington Music, said: “We have been putting on Ensemble 360 twice a year since it was founded in 2006 to follow The Lindsays in their Sheffield residency. Last year this double header of a concert attracted our biggest audiences yet and over 700 people of all ages came to the two concerts in the Royal Spa Centre.”

The concerts start at 11.30am and 3pm.
