Stratford Editorial 30th Jun, 2023   0

PUPILS at KES in Stratford will be showing off their Lego building skills for charity.

King Edward VI School will be hosting BricKES on Sunday July 9 to bank cash for the Battle Back Centre at Lilleshall, which is part of the Royal British Legion.

Students will be displaying their Lego sets to the public in the school’s Levi Fox Hall from 12 noon until 3pm. Sets on display will cover themes such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel and Transformers alongside many vehicles and buildings.

A live build of a 5,900 piece Taj Mahal will take place across the afternoon, with the completed model being raffled off to raise additional funds.

Local Lego traders will be in attendance and refreshments will also be available on the day.

Tickets, costing £3 per person or £10 for a family, can be purchased via the school’s online box office at www.ticketsource.co.uk/kes or paid for by card on the day.

Head of Lower School Stephen Temple said: “We’re extremely pleased to be supporting the Battle Back Centre based at Lilleshall, Shropshire, an organisation we work with during our annual Year 7 residential trip. Their work in supporting wounded, injured and

sick service personnel, helping them back to duty or adapting to civilian life is simply awe-inspiring.

“We look forward to welcoming Lego enthusiasts of all ages to this unique and fun event.”
