POLICE are asking a dog owner to come forward after a woman was bitten in Henley.

The incident, which took place at around 8.25pm on Tuesday December 13, saw a border collie type dog reportedly run out of a shop towards a woman walking her own dog.

The dog walker was bitten and required hospital treatment for her injuries.

PC Stuart Mucklow said: “We understand that the owner of the border collie type dog did reportedly stop to check on the victim and attempt to give her details, but the victim was distressed and left the scene quickly.

“I would now ask that the dog’s owner please get in touch with us directly so we can resolve the matter quickly.”

The dog’s owner is described as being white, in her twenties, with blonde hair and wearing a brown jacket.

The dog owner, or anyone who knows her, should call 101 or visit https://www.warwickshire.police.uk/ro/report, citing crime reference 23/53928/22 of December 13.
