EMPLOYEES at Stratford District Council are being well looked after.

The authority has received a Thrive at Work Wellbeing Award – the quality mark for investing in employee’s health and wellbeing.

The awards – created by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) – aim to support employers across the region to create a healthy and balanced workplace for employees.

It focuses on areas like health and safety, manager training, as well as mental, musculoskeletal and physical health, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

The council received bronze-level accreditation which recognises effective policies and procedures, good line management and board level engagement.

The council’s chief executive David Buckland said: “I am incredibly proud that the council has achieved this award, especially under the very difficult circumstances over the last 16 months. Looking after our employees’ health and wellbeing, particularly during the pandemic, is of paramount importance.”

Leader Tony Jefferson added: “We know that the health and wellbeing of our people is important. It’s not just a nice thing to do but it has real benefits in improving the way we operate which enables us to maintain the high quality services residents and businesses expect from us.”
