Life-saving equipment donated to Shipston community

A LIFE-SAVING defibrillator has been donated to the Shipston community.

Housing developer Taylor Wimpey Midlands has donated a defibrillator – a portable machine designed to restart someone’s heart – to the town as part of a scheme with the British Heart Foundation (BHF), to help people who suffer from cardiac arrest.

All Taylor Wimpey developments in the UK have the equipment on site and, now that work has finished at its Herdwick Gate development, Shipston Enterprise Centre is the latest to be gifted this potentially life-saving device.

Shipston Enterprise Centre director Kayleigh Seys said: “This defibrillator will save precious time in the case of any life-threatening situations. The first few minutes are absolutely crucial in an emergency and I’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation in providing such an important piece of equipment to our community. It has been installed at the Enterprise Centre which is located on Pittway Avenue.”

Taylor Wimpey spokesman Ben Walker added: “We’re proud to be working in partnership with the BHF in helping to ensure that more defibrillators are available for people who might need them. We’d like to thank Shipston Enterprise Centre for their help in ensuring that the defibrillator is easily accessible and, while we hope it won’t need to be used very often, it’s reassuring to know that it’s there in the event of an emergency.”
