Fund-raising sixth formers refuse to let pandemic stop them supporting good cause

FUND-RAISING sixth formers have not let the pandemic stop them supporting a local charity.

Kineton Sixth Form holds a charity week each year, and the recent event raised more than £3,000 for Katharine House Hospice in Banbury.

Despite the challenges brought by coronavirus students continued with the tradition by holding a number of fund-raising events.

These included creating a mockumentary, virtual comedy events and non-uniform day.

Head of sixth form Gemma Loveridge said: “I am always so proud of our students for how mature and giving they are, but this year was quite different. In order to create a series of events that would not only raise money for a fantastic cause, but also boost the morale and spirits of the whole school, the students in the sixth form had to give so much of their time and energy, while balancing their academic studies and university applications.

“Throughout this time they demonstrated creativity, resilience, independence and selflessness and created something amazing in the middle of a global pandemic.”
