SUSPECTED drug dealers had a one-year-old child in their car when police stopped them and found they had large amounts of what are believed to be class A drugs.

At around 11.50am on Friday (June 19), officers from the Southern Vehicle Crime Team saw a white Ford Fiesta acting suspiciously in The Fisherman’s car park in Stratford.

They stopped the car and found ‘a significant amount’ of what is believed to be heroin and cocaine in the vehicle, alongside a large amount of cash and a number of mobile phones.

The child in the car was related to one of the suspects.

A 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man, both from Coventry, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. They have been released under investigation.

A 27-year-old man from Coventry has also been charged in connection with the incident.
