WARWICKSHIRE Pride festival has been hailed a glittering success.

This year’s event had a ‘golden’ theme to mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York – which kick-started the Pride movement worldwide.

The annual Warwickshire Pride festival celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) life and culture and saw entertainment and stalls take over Leamington’s Pump Room Gardens.

Organiser Daniel Browne said: “Thanks to everyone who came to Warwickshire Pride. We were blessed with sunshine and are so grateful to everyone who was part of it.

“The pride team are already starting to plan next year’s festival.”

And even those who could not attend the event benefited.

Leftover food and drink was taken to LWS Night Shelter, which provide homeless people with meals and a place to sleep.
