Aerial rescue event fundraises for lifesaving equipment

Stratford Editorial 6th Oct, 2018   0

TREE surgeons brushed up on their safety skills and gave a helping hand to the air ambulance at the same time.

Some 100 tree surgeons attended a tree climbing aerial rescue refresher training event at Compton Verney.

It was organised by Chris Wyatt, managing director of Kineton-based CTS Forestry and Arboriculture, and raised over £10,800 for Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

The fund-raising included a raffle which saw thousands of pounds worth of equipment go under the hammer, everything from climbing harnesses and ropes to a chainsaw.

Chris said: “This was the first time such an event had been held and it was a great success.

“Tree surgeons do aerial rescue training but it is easy to forget such skills, so the event was important as a refresher, and also as a fund-raiser for the air ambulance.”
