Voters say yes to town's BID

Stratford Editorial 28th Sep, 2018   0

THE FUTURE of the town’s Business Improvement District has been secured for a further five years.

Stratforward BID will begin its third term in April after 70 per cent of voters said yes to continuing the organisation which has been running since 2009.

BID Director Joe Baconnet thanked the businesses which voted yes and assured others the business community was stronger together.

He added: “Now the real hard work begins. Everyone knows that the high street is facing incredible challenges at the moment and there is no time to lose. The team will be starting to implement the proposals that form part of the BID 3 business plan, drawn up in consultation with our members over recent months, with immediate effect.”

The plan includes collaboration with businesses to improve the evening economy and strategies to help the business community with issues such as begging.

Other work already undertaken by the BID will continue including that of the town hosts, staff and company savings schemes, and events and marketing campaigns.
