CAREERS advice at Stratford School is second to none.
The Quality In Careers Accreditation board has awarded the school with the gold level Quality Award in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance.
Stratford School has long held careers advice and guidance to be central to the school’s values, and when government funding for careers provision was withdrawn from schools in 2011, it responded by investing itself in advice and guidance to help pupils plans their future.
David Wallace, the school’s careers, advice and guidance manager said: “We are extremely pleased to be given this accreditation, the recognition of the work we do is wonderful to receive.
“We have always strived to provide students who attend Stratford School with the best possible information to help them develop their goals and help prepare them for what is a very uncertain and highly changeable future. It is a core value of the school and a pleasure to be allowed the opportunity to embed this into a whole school structure, and have the support of such dedicated staff.”
Headteacher Neil Wallace was equally delighted.
He added: “The purpose of education is to prepare youngsters for adult life.
“As such, we recognise that high quality careers advice and opportunities are essential in ensuring that young people are really well prepared for their next steps. Congratulations to colleagues involved whose work has enabled us to be recognised as one of the top schools in the country in this area.”
