A MAN has been charged with murder after the discovery of a woman’s body near Southam.

Andrew Thomas McIntosh, age 54, of Woolscott in Warwickshire, has been charged with murder after the woman – who has yet to be formally identified – was found at a home in Knightcote.

Officers were called to the house at around 9pm on Wednesday (November 15) where they found the body of the woman, who is believed to be 56-years-old and had suffered facial injuries.

Andrew McIntosh was arrested in Rugby around an hour later after his car was stopped by police officers.

He has also been charged with driving a vehicle above the alcohol limit.

McIntosh will appear at Warwickshire Magistrates Court at a yet unconfirmed date.

Police are calling for anyone with information to contact them.

Det Insp Tim Sharp said: “We would still like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Knightcote area on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who saw a silver Range Rover with a partial registration V88, in or around Knightcote on Wednesday.”

Call 101 to speak to police.
