Classic cars to go under the hammer at Warwickshire firm's one-day auction

Stratford Editorial 18th Sep, 2017   0

RARE and classic cars will go under the hammer at a Warwickshire firm’s biggest ever one-day auction on Saturday (September 23).

Classic Car Auctions (CCA) will sell off 172 cars from the likes of Jaguar, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and Aston Martin – inviting first time buyers to get their hands on a classic.

Among them will be a rare 1959 Ford 100E Prefect, a former Concours d’Elegance award-winning 1964 Triumph Spitfire 4 Mk I, and a 1970 MG Midget racer.

Modern classics including a 1990 Lotus Elan and a 1991 Volkswagen Golf GTI will also be offered with no reserve price.

Other star cars include a 1991 Audi Quattro turbo 20 Valve with an auction estimate of £35,000-£40,000, a restored 1988 Ford Capri 280 Brooklands Turbo Technics (£30,000-£35,000) and a 1984 Peugeot 205 GTI in near original condition estimated at £14,000-£18,000.

Visitors will also have the chance to see a number of rare cars, including a 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S ‘Silver Rose’, one of just 77 made, a 1982 Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalve, one of just 152 produced in right-hand drive, and a 1971 NSU Prinz 4L, one of just 12 surviving examples.

The auction house will hold a viewing afternoon on Friday (September 22) from 12noon-6pm. The auction opens on Saturday at 9am, with viewing available until 11am when the auction starts.

Both take place at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on the Fosse Way near Radford Semele.
