WARWICKSHIRE Women’s Bowling Association’s young guns did the county proud as they reached the quarter-finals of the Amy Rose national competition at Leamington.
The two-rink team of under 31 players faced stiff opposition against Norfolk in the first round but they were undaunted and went on to win 30-20.
Next up were Buckinghamshire but again the Warwickshire team showed their true spirit and finished with a resounding 40-19 win.
This took them into the quarter-finals but their opponents were the winners of last year’s competition, Devon, and the opposition were just too strong as they went on to retain their crown.
However, it looks like the future of the sport is in good hands in Warwickshire.
