Police issue weather warning before Storm Aileen hits

Stratford Editorial 12th Sep, 2017   0

A WEATHER warning has been issued across the county.

Storm Aileen is set to hit the region at around 5pm tonight (Tuesday) when rain will start.

This will be replaced at around 9pm with strong 40 to 50mph winds and the odd gusts over 60mph. These will continue into tomorrow morning.

Warwickshire Police have warned tree branches could fall onto roads and some older trees could even topple over.

A spokesman said: “Extra care should be taken by those driving high sided vehicles, caravans, articulated lorries as they are at significant risk.

“Do take care if you are driving upon country road and motorways, in or near one of these vehicles.”
