Volunteers needed at Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help out at Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall.

The building in the heart of Stratford opened in April following a £1.4million restoration, which was the vision of the trustees at King Edward VI School and was funded by the Heritage Lottery.

Since opening, volunteers have played a huge part in its success – getting involved in everything from visitor tours to front of house roles.

And bosses are now looking for more people to join the team in a variety of different roles.

Those wanting to find out more can visit one of two volunteer events taking place in the Church Street building from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on October 10 and 11.

There will be a talk at 6pm providing details of the roles available with members of the team also on hand to answer further questions.

Project lead, Lincoln Clarke, said: “From the very start, volunteers have been pivotal to Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall – playing a core role in creating an immersive and welcoming visitor experience.

“It’s incredibly important to us that volunteers get as much out of working here as we gain from them giving up their time.

“The open sessions are a great opportunity for us to tell them about the Schoolroom, but also for us to find out more about them as individuals and what they want to get out of their time volunteering with us.”
