PLANS for a “safer and more secure Warwickshire” have been unveiled by the county’s Police and Crime Commissioner.

Commissioner Philip Seccombe said putting victims first, ensuring efficient policing, protecting people from harm, and preventing crime were his key objectives for the next four years.

They were revealed in his draft Police and Crime plan – a blueprint for how he will work with Warwickshire Police and partner agencies to improve community safety.

The four objectives resulted from feedback received in a public consultation earlier this summer.

Mr Seccombe said: “I am delighted to be able to unveil my first Police and Crime Plan, which is designed to make Warwickshire safer and more secure, building upon the strong foundations which already exist.

“It will enable Warwickshire Police to transform to meet the changing nature of crime, with well-trained officers and staff supported by investment in state-of-the-art technology, while retaining strong, visible neighbourhood policing as its bedrock.

“I am very confident it will deliver a safer and more secure Warwickshire for residents, businesses and visitors.”

Residents can comment on the plans, which are out for consultation until Friday October 28 before a finalised plan is presented to the Police and Crime Panel in December.
