Town trust give Air Cadets ticket to ride

AIR Cadets have been given a ticket to ride – thanks to a grant from Stratford Town Trust.

The 1289 Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC) has taken the wheel of its new minibus which was funded by a £26,000 grant from the trust.

The minibus will be used by the Stratford-based squadron to travel to training events and competitions and take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award across the country.

It will also be shared with St Andrew’s Church in Shottery for outings for parishioners and the church youth group.

And the local branch of the Royal Air Force Association (RAFA) will use the bus to take members to airshows, commemoration and remembrance services, and to collect those members who are no longer able to drive, so they can attend the monthly association meetings.

Stratford Town Trust grants manager Claire Bowry said: “This minibus will benefit so many members of the community here in Stratford – across all generations – and we are so proud to support it.”

Flt Lt Dave Ariss, added how grateful the squadron were for the support to so many members of the community.
