'Mindless vandalism' means graffiti artists not welcome in Alcester

SKATERS, scooters and BMX riders are all welcome in Alcester – but not graffiti artists.

With skateboarding being an increasingly popular activity for youngsters, Alcester Town Council and the Youth Council are encouraging people to try out the Jubilee Fields skate park.

And the town council, who have taken ownership of the park, want regular users to be stewards of the facility by letting them or the police know if there is any damage.

There will be a zero-tolerance policy towards graffiti and those caught could face prosecution for criminal damage.

The town council say it has been disheartening to see the mindless vandalism of the site before it was even completed. And the mindless actions of some shouldn’t undermine the creative ability of the town’s skilled artists.
