LEGS were in abundance at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre recently.
The possessors of two, six and eight came together for The British Tarantula Society’s annual exhibition – an event nicknamed ‘The Crufts of The Spider World – which featured over 50,000 spiders, scorpions and other insects from the world over.
BTS vice chairman Ray Hale said: “To be honest, it would be impossible to count how many spiders are on display but I think 50,000 is a conservative estimate.
“Our main aim was to educate people about these wonderful and yet truly misunderstood creatures.”
Society members had been busy preparing their prized creatures for a series of awards including Best Brachypelma Species, Best New World Terrestrial and Best Scorpion.
