Council launches poster campaign to help victims of modern slavery

Stratford Editorial 12th Nov, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

RESCUING victims of modern day slavery is the focus of a new poster campaign by Stratford District Council.

The authority say there are nearly 3,000 victims of human trafficking and some of these are in local communities.

They have teamed up with Stratford Soroptimists International and will be displaying posters with contact details for support and advice for victims.

The posters are in English and other languages and will be put up in district council-owned properties from this week.

Coun Mike Brain, technical services spokesman, said: “This is not something you think happens on your doorstep but it is and the district council is happy to play its part in the campaign.”
