A MAN was lucky to escape more serious injury after his car and a HGV were involved in a crash.

The car driver believed to be in his 40s suffered chest and hip injuries as well bumps and bruises in the crash on Node HIl around 5.30pm on Monday afternoon (October 5).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a car and a lorry that had been in a serious collision. The car had suffered substantial damage.

“The man driving the car received treatment at the scene from medics and was then transferred to The Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.

“Considering the damage to the car the man is fortunate not to have suffered more serious injuries.”

The lorry driver was uninjured.
