SCHOOLBOYS from the area are treading the boards at the RSC.
Seven youngsters have been cast in Marina Carr’s reimagining of Greek tragedy Hecuba playing at the Swan Theatre until October 17.
Twelve year-olds Marcus Acquari and Nilay Sahm, both from Warwick, and Luca Saraceni, from Stratford, are sharing the role of Polydorous, Hecuba’s youngest son.
Marcus is a pupil at Warwick School, while Nilay attends King Edward VI School (KES) in Stratford, while Luca studies at St Benedict’s Roman Catholic School in Alcester.
Sebastian Dibb, aged 11 from Leamington, a pupil at Princethorpe College; Christopher Kingdom,14, from just outside Stratford, and a pupil at KES; Daniel Vicente Thomas, 11, from Wellesbourne, and a pupil at Alcester Grammar School; and Yiannis Vogiardis, 12, from Warwick, and a pupil at KES, are sharing the non-speaking roles of Polymestor’s sons.
They are being directed by RSC Deputy Artistic Director, Erica Whyman, and will work alongside Derbhle Crotty who plays the title role. The boys will appear at alternate performances.
