THE KING’S Men, the close harmony group formed from the choral scholars of King’s College Choir Cambridge, perform a special charity concert at Warwick’s St Mary’s Church on Friday June 27.

Renown for their Christmas concerts on television and radio, The King’s Men will be singing as part of the Warwick Summer Music Festival.

They have received widespread praise for their performances. The Times said “‘It is incredible to think that these mature vocalists are mere students”, while BBC Music Magazine commented on the “luxurious blend of voices”.

The concert will feature a very varied programme of sacred music, jazz, spirituals, arrangements of traditional folk songs, and pop hits ranging from the Beatles to One Direction.

The performance is in aid of Warwickshire-based charity Rufus’ Friends’ Fund, which provides holidays and short breaks for people with learning disabilities and their families who could not otherwise afford them.

The evening will start with a drinks reception at 8.30 pm, followed by the concert at 9.15 pm.

Tickets are £15 and are available from St Mary’s Church gift shop or by calling 01926 613543.
