Stratford Foodbank launches new satellite session in Bidford

STRATFORD Foodbank has expanded its support across the district with the launch of a new satellite session in Bidford.

The weekly session will run every Thursday from 5pm until 6pm at The Crawford Memorial Hall, offering residents easier access to emergency food and support without needing to travel into Stratford.

Foodbank manager Asher Deakin said: “We’re really pleased to be coming to Bidford, but we’re also deeply aware that it’s because more people are going hungry. No one should be facing that, and we want to make support easier to reach.”

The launch comes in the same week that the Foodbank’s new Masons Road Hub welcomed clients for the first time, with its inaugural session held on Tuesday (June 2).

The hub marks a major milestone for the charity, which has seen demand rise by 70 per cent since 2019, significantly increasing pressure on its services.

By opening a dedicated session in Bidford, the Foodbank hopes to reduce reliance on its delivery service and ensure that support is available closer to where people live. The new location is expected to be particularly valuable for residents facing transport barriers or struggling with rising living costs.

The charity continues to operate multiple satellite sessions across Stratford and surrounding rural villages.
