STRATFORD-upon-Avon Table Tennis Club received a special visit from the new CEO of Table Tennis England, Sally Lockyer.

Lockyer, who lives in Shottery, has a wealth of experience in sport as Stratford showcased their 22-table venue at Meon Vale Leisure Centre.

The club also boasts a number of outdoor tables across the area through their partnership with Table Tennis England under the PING Stratford-upon-Avon banner.

Local company RYSE 3D, from Shipston-on-Stour, recently funded three brand-new tables to further support the club.

Lockyer has previously served as CEO of Surrey FA and held senior roles at the British Athletes Commission, Commonwealth Games and multiple World Championship events.

She has also worked with football clubs Juventus, AC Milan, Fulham and global brands including Nike, Kappa and Lotto.

Lockyer also served as an independent non-executive director at Triathlon England from 2013 to 2022.

And she helped improve the lives of disadvantaged young people as a Sported Business Mentor.

Lockyer said: “The approach is going to be brave and bold.

“We are going to be laser-focused on our strategy, and key to delivering that is digital transformation.

“Table Tennis United is a powerful strategy, and we need everybody to be behind that.”

Lockyer added: “It was great to visit Stratford-upon-Avon Table Tennis Club.

“Thank you to club chair Kevin Taylor and all the players and volunteers for welcoming me and for the opportunity to meet and chat to everyone.

“A fantastic community club with a clear vision and making such a difference to Stratford.”
