Search begins for new manager for Arden Foodbank

THE HUNT is on for someone passionate about combating food poverty to lead and manage a local foodbank.

A new manager is needed after Arden Foodbank’s Susan Kinnersley announced her intention to step down in April.

Susan was instrumental in the creation of the foodbank, serving Alcester and Studley, 13 years ago and has managed it faithfully since then.

She said “Having worked in the East End of London in the 1960s, I was shocked to read about the problems in this century and wanted to do something to help those in need.

“This is the most worthwhile and fulfilling volunteering role. Over the years, I have not only been able to help those struggling to afford even the essentials, but have also made many friends among my fellow volunteers.”

The new manager will lead and manage the foodbank, overseeing and coordinating all its activities, including food distribution, warehousing, finance, marketing and partnerships.

The closing date for applications is March 15.
