Plans being drawn up for new community hub in Upper Lighthorne

PLANS are now being drawn up for a new community hub to serving the growing population of Upper Lighthorne.

Stratford District Council is leading the project with the assistance of the NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board and the Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner.

Planned to be completed in 2027, the scheme will create a new community centre, healthcare facility and neighbourhood police office to serve Upper Lighthorne’s emerging village centre.

Freehaus have been appointed as the architects, and work is underway on the initial design of the new facilities.

SDC is already working with the community to define what they need, taking into consideration adjoining villages and the wider area, what is currently in place and new facilities that are proposed elsewhere on the new settlement, so that this hub offers something unique to the community that will enhance, rather than duplicate, existing provisions.

SDC deputy leader Coun George Cowcher said: “This is a vital piece of infrastructure that will sit at the heart of the community at Lighthorne Heath. It will provide facilities vital for local people and we look forward to seeing the new design and having it implemented as soon as possible.”

Residents are encouraged to contribute their views on what community facilities they would like to see within the new building by completing the consultation at https://bit.ly/40Vx0jb
