Wilmcote continue to impress

WILMCOTE enjoyed their third consecutive win in the Stratford & District Airgun League and had the highest league score again.

This included Jamie Clarke’s second possible of the season, Graham East’s season-best 34 and 33s for John Maycock and Paul Clingan.

Clifford, on their own target, only had two loose counting threes but, with more fours than bulls, shot 211 points including a personal best score of 33 from Jay Morris.

MEB continue to shoot without a full team and struggled in their match against Home Guard who continue to press Wilmcote for top spot after their third consecutive win and the team’s highest score of the season.

Brothers Gareth and Tom Morris were unfortunate to miss out on possibles with 34 points and, with more bulls than fours, Home Guard comfortably won 228-207.

Binton A, currently in third place but with a higher overall average than Home Guard, had another high score with only bulls and fours for 228 points in their match against Avenue.

Andy Smith shot his second possible of the season and three shooters – Chris Reed, Michelle Dale and Will Cemis – all scored 33s.

Avenue’s James Wilby and Paul Lowe shot six bulls but missed the last for 34s. With a few loose shots, Avenue’s total was only 210 points.

Binton B shot consistently but, with mainly fours, lost out to Avon who managed to hit more bulls. The high scores in this match were from Binton’s Ben Chamberlain and Avon’s Steve Ray, Richard Groom, Alison McMillan and Karl McMillan, all of whom shot 33s.

Avon came out winners with 225 points to Binton’s 209.
