Rybrook Stratford MINI to sponsor regatta

Stratford Editorial 13th Jan, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

RYBROOK Stratford MINI will be the main sponsor for the Rybrook Stratford Boat Club Regatta on Saturday, June 20.

The regatta has been taking place in Stratford since 1879 and, as well as Stratford Boat Club’s own crews, the event draws competitors (able-bodied and adaptive) and their supporters from local clubs such as Evesham, Shrewsbury and Warwick and those further afield including Ross-on-Wye, Gloucester and even Sudbury in Suffolk.

Racing is on the town stretch of the river from Holy Trinity Church to the Tramway Bridge. As well as the rowing contingent, there is always a lot of interest from visitors to the town who come down to the Bancroft Gardens and the Recreation Ground to enjoy the racing.

The regatta can be watched from the parks either side of the Avon in the town centre, not to mention from the balcony of the RSC restaurant.

It is free to watch and there is a refreshments tent brimming with tea, cake, burgers and beer for those who should need it!

The day starts at 8am and continues through to the late afternoon so there is plenty of time to stop by and see these youngsters in action.

This will be the second year running Rybrook Stratford is the main sponsor and the third year in which it has been involved in sponsorship.
