Richards stars on Finals Day

THE 2016 WARWICKSHIRE Women’s Bowling Association Finals Day at Stoke Bowls Club produced some thrilling action.

Kings Heath Bowls Club’s Kirsty Richards led the way with three victories as she triumphed in the Pairs with Jane Follett, 4-Wood Singles and Junior Singles, whilst she was also a runner-up in the Benevolent Triples and Junior Pairs.

The full list of winners is as follows: Triples – Whitnash Bowls Club’s Maureen Tims, Helen Slimm and Cheryl Saywell; runners-up – Welford Bowls Club’s Moira Parsons, Liz Westell and Wendy Holloway.

Pairs – Kings Heath Bowls Club’s Kirsty Richards and Jane Follett; runners-up – Lillington Bowls Club’s Jacqui Cook and Margaret Grosvenor.

Unbadged Singles – Royal Leamington Spa Bowls Club’s Anna Molony; runner-up – Llllington Bowls Club’s Rosemary Murphy.

2-Wood Singles – Blossomfield Bowls Club’s Joy Cooke; runner-up – Royal Leamington Spa Bowls Club’s Dawn Horne.

4-Wood Singles – Kings Heath Bowls Club’s Kirsty Richards; runner-up – Welford Bowls Club’s Moira Parsons.

Mixed Pairs – Whitnash Bowls Club’s Maureen Tims and Adam Shuttleworth; runners-up – Whitnash Bowls Club’s Helen Slimm and Harry Billington.

Benevolent Triples – 3 Spires’/Lillington Bowls Club’s Pat Moore, Di Thurlbeck and Margaret Grosvenor; runners-up – Avenue Leamington’s/Kings Heath Bowls Club’s Lisa Smith, Yvonne Pick and Kirsty Richards.

Champion of Champions – Stoke Bowls Club’s Di Medhurst; runner-up – Welford Bowls Club’s Moira Parsons.

Fours – Welford Bowls Club’s Moira Parsons, Liz Westell, Ann Webb and Jayne Hancock; runners-up – Avenue Leamington’s Lisa Smith, Yvonne Pick, Lyn Houghton (Bernadette McDonnell) and Hannah Smith.

Top Club Final – Lillington A; runners-up – Rugby Thornfield.

Junior Singles – Kings Heath Bowls Club’s Kirsty Richards; runner-up – Rugby Thornfield Bowls Club’s Abbie Ward.
