First year is a big success for Wheelers

Stratford Editorial 25th Feb, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

WELLESBOURNE Wheelers celebrates its first anniversary today (Friday) and continues to go from strength to strength.

Currently, the group rides take place on Thursdays and are typically a couple of hours’ riding (four in total) either side of a lunch stop.

The popular and thriving Thursday group will continue but Wellesbourne Wheelers – which became an official cycling club two months ago – has recognised a need for two other groups and these would also enjoy all the benefits of riding with an organised and established club.

The proposed new Sunday morning group will probably share the same routes as the Thursday group (average trip around 35-40 miles), whilst the new ladies’ group has just started riding on Thursdays and is initially using dedicated routes of around 15 miles, usually ending with lunch in Wellesbourne.

With spring and British summer time fast approaching, the Wheelers think this is a great time to promote the expansion of their club so, if you are interested in finding out more about either of the new groups or, indeed, the current Thursday rides, then register your interest via the enquiry form on the website at www.wellesbourne-wheelers.org.uk.

Once the level of interest is established for the two new groups, they will then look to set up some introductory rides.
