Stratford rower Esme wins an Olympic silver medal

STRATFORD rower Esme Booth has won a silver medal at the Olympic Games.

The former KES student and Stratford Boat Club member, was part of Great Britain’s coxless four team who finished behind the Netherlands today (Thursday).

Esme and her teammates Rebecca Shorten, Sam Redgrave and Helen Glover finished in 6.27.31, pipped to the finishing line by just fractions of a second by the Dutch who took gold in 6.27.13.

Crews from China and New Zealand were also in the final and the silver comes following an unbeaten track record so far for 2024.




The 25-year-old, who was making her Games debut in Paris, took up rowing when her name was pulled out of a hat at primary school.
