Stratford dieter crowned Slimming World Woman of the Year

A SUPER slimmer is celebrating after losing more than 5st in seven months.

Aileen Cowler from Stratford has been named ‘Woman of the Year’ in her Slimming World group because of her inspiring weight loss.

The 36-year-old – who put on weight after having her two children – has dropped from a size 18 to a size 10 and says the weight loss has changed her life.

She said: “When I started out I never dreamt I’d be able to achieve all that I have.

“I lost 7.5lbs in my first week and was blown away that the changes I’d made had such a big impact so quickly. As the weight started to come off and I began moving down dress sizes I started to believe I could actually lose the weight and keep it off.

“Losing weight has made such a huge difference – it’s changed my life. I’ve got so much more energy and I can do things now that I couldn’t before. I’m more confident and I like the slim, happy, positive person I see in the mirror.”

Aileen has not cut out any of her favourite meals since starting Slimming World and says she still enjoys spaghetti bolognese, roast dinners and curries and just uses healthier ingredients.

And her new lease of life will even see Aileen take on the Great North Run later this year.

The Slimming World group is held every Monday at 7.30pm at Stratford Methodist Church in Old Town.
