THERE is an extra incentive to keep fit this year – by losing weight for charity.
The Shakespeare Hospice is urging residents to take part in their Slim Gym challenge.
The programme includes a 12 week free gym membership, weekly weigh-ins, support sessions and access to fitness classes and a dietician.
Challenge winners receive a one year free gym membership.
To take part participants must raise a minimum of £300 sponsorship.
Last year’s challenge raised more than £6,000 for the Shottery-based hospice – which paid for three patients to use the day hospice services.

And hardy fund-raisers will be hot-footing it over burning coals in aid of The Shakespeare Hospice.
The hospice is once again holding its firewalk challenge – which they say is the hottest and shortest sponsored walk in the world.
Fund-raisers receive full training before completing the daring dash – set to be held at the Shottery-based hospice on Friday February 19.
But with embers burning at more than 1,200 degrees fahrenheit, the walk is sure to test nerves and resilience.
Entry costs £20 and participants are expected to raise at least £100 in sponsorship.
