SBT photo competition aiming to capture Shakespeare's gardens

PHOTOGRAPHERS are being urged to turn their lenses on Shakespeare’s gardens.

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is inviting visitors to share their photos of the gardens at Shakespeare’s family homes in and around Stratford to be in with a chance of winning a selection of prizes, including a professional tripod, garden goodies a family pass to Shakespeare’s Family Homes, and a signed copy of Jackie Bennett’s book Shakespeare’s Gardens.

From the wicker sculptures at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage to the herb garden at Hall’s Croft, there are many stunning shots for visitors to capture.

Amateur or professional photographers of all ages are encouraged to snap away in the gardens at the Birthplace, Hall’s Croft, Mary Arden’s Farm and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, and Shakespeare’s New Place, which will be opening soon.




Photographs can be submitted via email or social media.

Submissions will be judged by Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s Head of Gardens Glyn Jones, and world-renowned gardens photographer Andrew Lawson.


Email entries to [email protected] or share them on social media using the hashtag #shakespearesgardens. The competition closes on September 30.

Shortlisted entries will be displayed online at www.shakespeare.org.uk and at one of Shakespeare’s family homes.
